The Brescia Food and Nutrition program is accredited by the Partnership for Dietetic Education

Brescia Food and Nutrition program is one of the best in the country. Students in the program are provided with high-quality education and hands-on practical experience. Whether they want to pursue careers in a clinical setting, or in a research role, the program will help them gain the skills they need to excel.

The Brescia Food and Nutrition program is accredited by the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice. This organization provides students with a series of training that will prepare them to become Registered Dietitians in Canada. Graduates of this program will also complete a practicum approved by the organization. If they want to work in research, they can also enroll in the Master of Science in Foods and Nutrition Thesis stream. In addition, graduates can enroll in PhD programs.

Brescia’s faculty members are top-notch. They are dedicated to providing a learning environment that will enhance students’ critical thinking and communication skills. Among them, there are several award-winning professors. These educators will guide their students in evaluating the nutritional merits of food products.

Brescia’s campus is located on beautiful grounds next to the University of Western Ontario. Students enjoy a close-knit community. They can take advantage of volunteer opportunities that will help them build a resume for future internship programs. Additionally, they can participate in community-based clubs, such as FRESH. For students who are interested in food production, they can apply for internships at local farms.

As an all-women’s university, Brescia College has a rich history of educating women. This legacy continues to grow every year. Today, it educates over one thousand students on a full-time basis, and 200 part-time students. Its mission is to educate women, empower them, and enable them to lead and serve in their communities. Those who are interested in studying nutrition can learn from the expert faculty, study a wide range of nutrition concepts, and join nutrition-related clubs.

Students will learn about the chemical composition of foods, as well as the role of the food industry in the global community. They will also have the opportunity to explore the societal determinants of health. Their studies will include working with local farmers, joining food-related community organizations, and more.

When it comes to scholarships, students can qualify for several types of financial aid. Scholarships are awarded based on need and merit. Some are even available to international students. Depending on the need, they can cover up to 80 percent of tuition costs.

Students can enjoy a variety of dining options. O’Bryan’s Dining Hall has Italian and Mediterranean menus, as well as handcrafted desserts. During the summer, Ursuline Hall serves as a conference centre. With a large open-concept dining hall, students can enjoy a variety of meal options, including a salad station.

Students will be able to use their own eco-friendly containers, which can be returned for tokens. They can also use the Fresh Ideas program, which utilizes fresh ingredients to create meals. However, it must be requested at least 24 hours in advance.
